About this Project
We designed many projects for this Dentist cum Developer. Here he made this empty hillside parcel into a buildable site by having us do a lot line adjustment with the neighboring owner. Many 30 feet deep reinforced concrete caissions anchor the spectacular ocean view 3 bedroom 3 bath house against possible earthquakes, wind and mudslides.
Native Californians often find the idea of a redwood house romantic. Maintaining the fresh cut color of redwood requires a frequent staining, as redwood changes to a darker and darker hue as years pass by. And, of course, keeping a fire defensible space around the building is essential.
